Clinical Practicum - Phlebotomy
Discover the world of phlebotomy with our in-depth Phlebotomy course, designed to emphasize the vital role of phlebotomists in the healthcare system. Students will simultaneously enroll in PLAB 1023 (96 classroom hours) and PLAB 1060 (48 clinical hours). Our comprehensive curriculum covers essential topics, including medical terminology, safety and legal issues, physiological systems, laboratory tests, and specimen handling. Graduates of our program should emerge with a high level of competence in venipuncture and dermal puncture.

Earning Criteria
Required
Completion of a minimum 48 clinical hours. This clinical combined with the lecture course enables a student to sit for the state licensure exam with the NHA. Successful completion of the course does not equal certification or licensure.
